Protect Our Wetlands
Protecting fertile wetlands with stream water that flows year-round must become a priority for our elected officials. Wetlands, like the Skiff Avenue Canal, filter water before it enters the Colorado River. Mesa County claims to Respect the Rural and the Right to Farm, but their actions tell a different story. Let’s demand Mesa County and the City of Fruita protect and preserve wetlands and stop private developers from improperly dredging, filling, and piping wetlands our wetlands.
